Where you will find the scores we either publish or distribute, certain records we are responsible for from the "music today" series, the new works, first performances and musical events that constitute the highlights of our existence, information on the presence of works from our catalogue at festivals and on the seasonal programmes of various orchestras, plus a lot of other information and notes on subjects of interest.

Since Chant du Monde came into being in 1938, it has always had the two-fold vocation of music publisher and record producer. Right from the start, "our" musicologists, composers and performers have aimed at helping to increase public knowledge of contemporary music by bringing it to their attention. This approach still holds good today, not only for French and Russian music, but more recently, we've brought other countries into our catalogue, such as those of South America and Central Europe.

This catalogue does not aim to be vast in scope, rather, it wants to show the rich variety of styles and schools, without debarring any; and it aims at presenting some strong, original personalities whose work we are proud to publish. We have always tried to build up a musical environment that, though eclectic, is actually less heterogeneous than it seems. Thus Chant du Monde Music Publishers stands apart in its sector on the French scene. We definitely want "our" composers to feel at home with us, and this site is clear evidence of our desire that you who visit us should feel the same way.
