This album is devoted to Lunfardo, a popular dialect from the Río de la Plata area. It’s also a tribute to two specialists in the domain, Carlos de la Púa and Dante A. Linyera. Like argot and slang, Lunfardo comes from prison jargon. Adopted in various popular districts in Buenos Aires it was completed by the addition of dialects from other languages such as Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Polish. With those songs, the Cuarteto follows respectfully the tradition of the early tango songwriters, who were the first to use Lunfardo.
