‘Feet in the water, head in the sun’ – here is an album intended for the very young. Not much in the way of sound effects: voice and instruments preserve their direct sound, concentrating the attention of babies and older children. François offers a sequence of songs, pieces for body percussion and brief stories in which the child enters a world that is beginning to become his or her own.
The artist gracefully holds the door open. Our hearing – that sense so keenly developed in very small children – tells us that it is vitally important for their ears to be nourished on the haute cuisine of simple things.
